 Tips and Tricks to Stop Your Binge Eating 
  1. Are you the kind of person who does better if you make up your mind to do with out sweets or just not to have them around?  Or are you going to do better if you have a limited amount of sweets every day?  One RD reported that most of her clients pick the latter and find they can avoid bingeing after a few day.
  2. If you feel you need a sweet treat, compromise with low-fat ice cream of fruit.
  3. Eat your sweets, just eat them smart.  Carve out 150 calories per day for your favorite sweet.
  4. Eat all you meals in the day.  The large majority of people who struggle with night eating are those who skip meals or don’t eat a balanced meal during the day.
  5. Find out the time you binge… afternoon, night… replace that time with some think productive
  6. Shock your taste buds.  Try having something pungent or spicy like salsa or hot sauce with sliced veggies in place of cookies or candy.
  7. Drink Water.  We often confuse thirst with a craving for a food.  Sipping water fills you stomach and ensures that you are non-nibbling when you really just need to replenish H2O.
  8. Hit the Hay.  Fatigue often prompts mindless eating, so curb noshing by going to bed earlier.
  9. Realize your emotions.  Are you an emotional eater?  Figure out your triggers and replace eating with another healthier coping mechanism.
  10. Chew a mint gum.  The mint curbs your appetite while your mouth is being busy chewing.
